Experience the Spanish countryside
16-04-2008 11:57:10

SPAIN Already decided where to go on holiday this year? If you decided for Spain you won’t be disappointed. Spain is one of these countries that has it all. Without any need to go very far, you can enjoy a walk in the mountains and breathe pure air, practice sightseeing in a big city and relax on the beach.Apart from summer, which is the most typical period of the year to go on holiday to Spain, spring is a wonderful time to visit Spain. Temperatures comparable to the ones in summer of Northern Europe, lovely orange blossom smells and lots of terraces to try a first “tinto de verano”, what more do you need? You can book it all from home via the Internet on Spain-holiday.com, so no need to go to a travel agency. Once you’re in Spain, just enjoy! You have a garden but don’t need to work in it. You can swim in a pool that someone else maintains for you. Self catering holidays are like being at home but better as there is less work to be done. It is much cheaper to rent a holiday home than going on a hotel, especially when the group is large or if you are traveling with children. Children love it too, as they don’t have to be “quiet” to not disturb the other hotel guests and can simply enjoy playing in the garden, terrace, beach and sleep in their own room. Depending who you are traveling with, will influence your destination. Why not run away from the typical beach destinations and explore the rural parts of Spain this year? From the sand of the Spanish coasts to the green lands of the Spanish rural side, Spain-holiday.com, leader in Spanish Holiday rentals has a lot to offer you on the country side. Spanish people appreciate the value of getting peace up in the mountains a lot, where pure nature and wonderful landscapes are the best frame for your holiday memories. No matter which season of the year we’re in, you can always enjoy a holiday in the country. In Northern Spain, the scenery is green with mountains, lakes, snow during the winter time and...   View More »     Comenta la noticia. »

Local jobs in airline industry should be protected says Opposition after Easyjet makes local redundancies
22-04-2008 18:54:22

GIBRALTAR The decision by Monarch Airlines to put back the flights between Gibraltar and Manchester that they had withdrawn in July 2006 is in line with the policy of the Opposition, it says, that our existing airport should be served by more destinations. It will be recalled that the route was withdrawn two years ago following a very public row between the airline and the Government, said a spokesperson for the Opposition. While new airlines and routes are very welcome, the Opposition says it has received expressions of concern from persons employed in the tourism sector at the manner in which some of these changes are being brought into effect. "The Opposition understand that a number of persons have been made redundant in Gibraltar as a result of the takeover of GB Airways by...   View More »     Comenta la noticia. »

Be mellow in Madagascar
01-04-2008 18:40:24

AFRICA Just a three-hour flight from Johannesburg is Madagascar with its uninhabited islands, empty beaches and water filled with fish, and coral. An hour's flight north from the capital of Antananarivo (Tana for short) is the largest of Madagascar's islands. Nosy By (the perfumed island) is surrounded by many smaller islands - most of which are inaccessible from land-based accommodation. Happily, an alternative provides accommodation and three five-star meals a day while taking you to a different island every day for the best snorkelling spots and deserted beaches. Why not charter a catamaran for R1 550 a person per night? You can hire your own private yacht with Malagasy, but an English-speaking crew.
