A man opened fire on Monday against three women in a hospital in Knoxville (Tennessee) killing of one of them, after which he turned his gun and shot himself, was wounded, police said.
The events took place at 16.34 local time (22:34 CET Spanish) when a man whose identity has not transcended entered the university hospital in Knoxville and shot three women who were in the middle. Witnesses said there were five shots, one of which it would have shot himself the aggressor himself.
The Knoxville Police Chief Sterling Owen said that there had been a "shooting with multiple victims" whose interim report was a woman dead, two wounded and another man over the alleged offender and so far only suspect also wounded.
Owen said that everyone involved in the shooting were "employees or former employees of the hospital, but said the timing could not provide the identity of any of them because they were still authenticating their identities through fingerprints and I were reporting families, reports CNN.
The hospital was closed a few hours following the shooting, but opened late in the afternoon. For his part, Owen said that at present the center is safe. "
