Sponsored by San Miguel beer company, the annual edition of the Andalucía Day golf competition took place last Saturday 28th February.

Seventy two players competed in this better ball (stableford) tournament held on Campo Asia , one of three 18-hole courses in Spain’s largest golf complex.

The overall winners with 42 points were Antonio Pimentel Jiménez (Hcp. 3) and José González Febres (Hcp. 14).

The day was a great success with all players commenting on the favourable course conditions despite the amount rain that had fallen during the previous days.

The fifth edition of this competition was followed by a cocktail and tapas including many typical andalusian products provided by the sponsor.

La Cala Resort, the largest golf complex in Spain, is an exclusive residential and recreational estate of approximately 1,000 acres (4 million square metres), situated between the Sierra de Mijas Natural Park and the Mediterranean. Although located in a tranquil area, the resort is only 20 minutes from Marbella and 30 minutes from Malaga Airport.
